  • Gave the cat a bath yesterday - she really liked that! A good time to get the stink off of her, clip her nails and clean the 'ol ears. She looked so pathtic when we were done - her tail was quite rat like and she just stood there with that look on her face that said "what did I do to deserve this?"

I did finish planting in my herb garden (I think) I have Lavender that is about to bloom, Mint, Oregano, Parsley, Curry, Basil and Sage - Ideally I would like to have even a few more but as it is I may be very busy this year harvesting and drying the leaves.

Painted the shutters on the house - that needed to be done desperately! it was the fix of a mistake from last summer...I don't know why we ever thought white shutters would look good against our grey siding. After doing that I did not have the ambition to fix it right away so I waited until last weekend and now they are this cool green that looks great and makes me wonder if i should paint the front door to match...

Had x rays taken of my back last week - they showed that my spine in the lower back is curved way out to the left side and my neck is even worse. It is almost completely straight at the base and top and the middle section is curved back the opposite direction, lovely. Well it is no wonder why the pain seems to be geting worse since my accident and not better - I am seeing a chiropractor 3 times a week to try to help put my spine back into the right position. I am glad to have some hope as the Doc. thinks he can fix it in time...Gosh it hurts though.

I was video taped this past week for our Lebanon Presentation which is the 18th.  I realized that those cameras make me very nervous and my tongue gets completely tied up. Tom said it was good though I felt it wasn't so great. He was awesome, "Mr. Laid back" did very well on his part - I was proud of him.

Thanks to those of you who left a note of encouragment for me the last time I posted - I appreciate the support.

I am going out tonight on a hot date - ooo la la.  We're hitting dinner & the movies, should be fun cause we don't go out that much.

And that's all I got today.

  • Days flow into each other becoming a swiftly moving stream, always churning.

    So here we are.

I flew to Michigan over the weekend for Debbie's wedding.  What a fun time I had, it was a quick, busy trip though.  The wedding was so beautiful and the bride even prettier.   Thursday was fun bachelorette party, we were very nice to Debbie, we just had dinner, went to a movie and played a fun mall "shopping" game, that was hilarious...I want so badly to post the pictures I took but Debbie would absolutely kill me if I did.

    I am sleep deprived...

Friday I had a chiropractor appointmen for consultation on my back, that went mostly well. It looks like I will have to see a chiropractor and Physical therapist here in TN for quite a while in order to reverse some of the damage to my back  from the accident. Anyways...helped decorate the church, did the girls nails, went to rehearsal and rehearsal dinner...

Saturday - up early, went to church and helped everyone get ready, take pictures. Walk down the aisle, i was suprised at how nervous I was and it wasn't even my wedding!  My feet hurt so bad that I kept leaning from foot to foot while I stood at the front.  The ceremony was very nice and everything went mostly perfect.

I got to have pictures taken outside in very windy 11 degree temps, with no coat just my silky dress and dress sandals -walked over ice and snow to get to the bridge for our pictures - I cannot ever remember being that cold in my entire life, it took me two days to warm up.

Rode in a limo for the first time. Danced the YMCA song with my mom and enjoyed yummy garlic mashed potatoes...we left the reception at 11:30 and with daylight savings and having to catch a very early flight, I got 3 hours of sleep.  Tom picked me up at the airport, we went straight to curch and didn't get home until 2:30. I fell into bed at 6pm and didn't get up until 6am on Monday for work. Whewy what a weekend!

I really missed Tom, it was wonderful to see him on Sunday with a big smile on his face to welcome me home.  This was the longest we had been away from each other since we got married.

And now the countdown to our mission trip - we leave on Sunday morning, the 16th!   Still have loads to do between now and then....

  • The tree that felled the car...

Take it from me, here are a few things that I recommend not doing:

    • Leave for work when you have to go to the bathroom (you never know when you'll actually get to go!)
    • Drive in bad weather, down roads where there is no cellphone connection
    • Try to take on a tree with your car (its a fact that the tree will always win)
    • Get in a car accident (definately not a rewarding experience!)
    • Hitting your head repeatedly
    • Fall out of a car into a muddy 2 ft ditch. wearing nylons and heels (pay attention to this one Ken)
    • Be strapped to a hard backed stretcher in the cold pouring rain
    • Take an ambulance ride, its an expensive ride that's not to comfy!
    • Having your head and neck taped to a table
    • Getting your (just paid off) car totalled
    • Take the gift of life for granted

    Things that I do recommend:

    • Make sure you have good insurance coverage as you never know what might happen
    • Always use the restroom before you travel anywhere!
    • In bad weather, choose to drive well travelled roads
    • Respect trees, their roots go very deep therefore they don't budge
    • Stop if you are the first person at the scene of an accident, someone may be need your help!
    • Drive carefully!
    • Always tell those that are most important to you that you love them...

I am so thankful to be alive. To be able to wake up and breathe in a new day. To be able to look into my husband's eyes and see love.

    God is good

P.s. check out the car pics. on my photoblog!

  • Grays days

What a gray stormy day. The weather is quite nasty out.

This week has been pretty long, I love having breaks but it is so hard to get back into the swing of things when you come back. Tom's birthday was Monday, we had steak and twice baked potatoes for dinner followed by a scrumptious cheesecake.  mmm.

We are trying to get caught up on Lost season 3, its been hard since the season just recetly came out on DVD and the show is starting backup soon. I don't think we'll be ready but we'll certainly try to be.  Its one of those shows that is compelling yet when you haven't watched it in awhile the passion kind of fades.

Here is a picture of my Honey with our new niece Emma, She is so cute!  Tom's sister delivered her the end of November. So sweet, she is still at that sleep, eat, poop cycle in life, but darn she's cute!

  • hayat is beautiful

December already, how times flies by. Soon we will be up in balmy Michigan for Christmas holiday. Thankfully both of us get a week off of work around that time.

Tom and I decided that this year we were going to make almost all the Christmas gifts that we give. We began working on them back in August, believe it or not, and just yesterday finally finished a few of them... I won't leak the secrets of what we have been up to but just know that yes, it took us that long to make some headway.  It has been really fun learning all these new things and then seeing them come together.  I hope that everybody can enjoy what they are getting this year.

Debbie's wedding...still haven't got my dress, the first one had a flaw when it came in and then the second dress had the same flaw also.  So now I am awaiting a third dress,  hopefully this one works...been a wee bit dissapointed in David's Bridal.

Lebanon is just around the corner... the end of March, long story... if anyone wants to hear it then just shoot me an email.

Babies, babies, EVERYONE I know is having them (that's not an exageration), all the more reason to wait a very long time before attempting such a feet.  Personally I'm in no hurry.  In fact I take great joy in visiting friends and relatives who have been thusly blessed, spend quality time holding their sweet little beings, coddling them, playing with them, and then being able to go home to the quiet.  Since I am on this subject, congratulations to John and Ann, Jen and Wil, Catherine and Eric, and Amy and Evan on all the safe deliveries of your little blessings from heaven!  I anxiously await being able to congratulate Lisa, Gloria and Joe, Alea and Nathan, Johnathan and Amber, Danielle and all the others that I can't currently remember.  DID I mention that EVERYONE I know is having babies?!

On that note I sign off.
